Privacy policy

Last updated: 3 November 2026

Vocollab is an app where artists and producers find each other through short audio snippets. This policy explains which data we use, why, who we share it with and what your rights are.

1. Who is responsible?

The controller of your data is [naam verantwoordelijke], the Netherlands ("Vocollab", "we"). Questions about privacy? Email vocollab.support@gmail.com.

2. Which data do we use?

DataWhy
Email address and password (stored encrypted), or your Google account To create your account and sign you in.
Artist or producer name, bio, role (artist or beatmaker), genres To show your profile to other users.
Date of birth To check that you are 18 or older. Your date of birth is never shown to others.
Location, rounded to about 1 km To show people near you. Others only see a distance in kilometres, never your location.
Audio snippets, with title, BPM and whether they contain explicit content To let others hear what you make; this is what they respond to.
Likes, superlikes, matches and chat messages To make matches and let you chat with them.
Collabs you share for the Spotlight: title, link and an optional note To decide whether we feature a track. If it is featured, the title, the link and both your artist names are shown publicly in the app and on vocollab.eu.
Reports and blocks To keep the app safe (see section 4).
A push token of your phone and your time zone To send notifications about new matches or messages (if you allow it) and to reset your daily likes at the right time.
Technical data, such as IP address and time of requests To run and secure the service and to fix errors.

We show no ads, sell no data and use no tracking cookies, neither in the app nor on this website.

3. Legal basis

4. Safety and moderation

You can report or block other users. When someone is reported by 5 different people within 30 days, they are automatically hidden from others for the time being. An administrator then reviews the case; a permanent ban is always decided by a person. For this, administrators can see your profile, audio and reports. We do not read chat messages.

5. Who do we share data with?

Other users see your profile (name, bio, role, genres, audio and the distance in km), and your matches see the messages you send them. We also use these service providers ("processors"), who may only use your data on our behalf:

ServicePurposeLocation
SupabaseDatabase, accounts and audio storageEU (Ireland)
Fly.ioOur serverEU (Amsterdam)
Expo, Google (Firebase) and ApplePush notifications to your phoneUS
ResendEmails, such as confirming your email addressEU (Ireland)
GoogleSign in with Google, if you choose itUS

Some of these companies are based in the US. Where data leaves the EU, this happens under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. We only share data with others when the law requires us to.

6. How long do we keep data?

7. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct and delete your data, to receive a copy (data portability), to restrict processing and to object. Much of this you can do yourself in the app: edit your profile and audio, turn notifications off and delete your account. For anything else, email vocollab.support@gmail.com; we reply within one month. If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

8. Age

Vocollab is only for people aged 18 and over.

9. Security

Connections are encrypted (https). Access to data is restricted per user, audio is only reachable through temporary links, and administrators sign in with an extra code (two-factor authentication).

10. Changes

We may update this policy. We will tell you in the app about important changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
